Welcome Pack

Page history last edited by Oxana Krailo 14 years, 1 month ago

Hello everybody and welcome to Ukraine!

This is our virtual Welcome Pack and it is not because we haven't what to show - just bacause mailing is too expensive... . But the Internet gives us brilliant opportunities to share our knowledge and communicate.

So look through the materials presented on this page and let us know if you want to learn something else by leaving your comments on this page. Have nice time with us!

Ukraine is a country situated in south-eastern Europe. It has got 24 regions

(with our Vinnytsya region - try to find it on the map) and the Autonomy Republic of Crimea.

The capital of our country is Kyiv (or Kiev - in Russian spelling - for a long time while Ukraine was a member of the Soviet Union the only language for international equivalents of local geographic names was Russian), an ancient ciry which history dates back fot thousands of years. The capital city is really rich in different museums, nice streets and momuments - download the zip-folder and watch some of them: Kyiv.zip

In our class survey you could read that the main hobby of these pupils is travelling. This autumn we had a nice trip to one of the most interesting historical town of West Ukraine - Kamiyanets-Podilskyi  and took lots of pictures there - watch them after downloading the folder Our trip to Kamianets.zip

And meet our village in Power Point rpesentation OUR VILLAGE LUCHYNETS.pptx  (you need to have Microsoft Office2007).

And of course you can find the information about Ukraine, its history and other facts in Wikipedia!

Some of our new friends told they would like to see our local newspaper but we want to present you may be some more interesting thing - the teen magazine "The Classmate" ("Odnoklasnyk") which is published for more then 80 years in Ukrainian - visit its site http://www.odnoklasnyk.org.ua

Hello... thank you for sharing your city, school and country with us... I hope you will do a world map with all your partners on it, like you did last year.
cheers
